Sunny,
June 1, 1988 - March 3, 2001

A time that was far too short....

Sunny was my first kitty "of my own". But that wasn't why we had our special bond. That bond was because he was lovely, and snuggly and could read my every mood. He was always there for me, through my bachelor's degree, my master's degree, our move to Minnesota, my marriage, my first job and basically every major event in my life. When I felt the rest of the world didn't care, he always showed me he did.

And I miss him so greatly it is frightening.

Sunny, this poem is for you:

You were just a little fuzzy guy,
When by some chance you caught my eye.
Something great began that day,
That not even your death can take away.
All of me for you and you for me
Is a truth that will always be.
I carry you today in my heart,
For you know that we cannot truly part.
And when some day we meet anew,
There at the Bridge, I'll look for you.
And once again I will hold you tight,
As we go off on the eternal flight.
It will be wonderful to once again,
Have you there with your nuzzle, up under my chin.
